hey i downloaded gwx2 from your link and installed it righ but now im having broblem when i click gwx2 icon it will open gw right away it wont pop up that box where its asks file locations i have tried to re-install it several times but it doesnt work

so if someone got solution pls contack me in here or in game - The Protection Nub or Teh Protection Nub ty

Why are you using ...meh, never mind.

Make a shortcut to gwx2.exe then edit it so that there is a -setup at the end of the string in the "target" box.

I did exactely what you said, i also added -setup at the end, but nothing happens. It opens only 1 gw client -.-', any help?

New update seems to have broken my GWx2. Copied over the .exe as normal after an update. Everything updated correctly.

Seems to now only run one client.

So created a shortcut to GWx2.exe with the -setup param. To make sure the correct GW.exe were the target. Everything is right. Try the "Run both clients" and it will still only open one of them. The other one doesn't even seem to try and open. Anyone else having this problem now?

Go to multiloader thread. It fixes it, this happened to me before the update so i just downloaded that one and its works fine. cheers

No problem with GWx2 here, after the update.

I have a shortcut for my main instance which has the -image parameter for GW.exe.

My sequence, as usual was:
1. Run the -image shortcut.
2. On seeing there was an update downloaded, I copied the new gw.exe to the secondary GW folder.
3. I ran GWx2
4. Both instances launched, and the secondary instance downloaded new DAT stuff.

Business as usual. I'm not about to dump GWx2 in favour of multiloader... it's simple, it's working for me, and I see no benefit in switching. And if it aint broke, don't fix it. If yours IS broke though, maybe its the right time to go for multiloader instead.

The main reasons for switching to GWML are:

It supports multiple simultaneous accounts (not just 2 like gwx2)
It is still a "live" application with support
It doesn't make any changes to gw.dat

That's just the main reasons. But hey, if gwx2 works for you then why fix what ain't broke

Yes I did as that is the only account on this computer even on my XP Drive.It is just path as Win 7 uses a file called programs(86).It is the same Snog. tried GWML didn't work well for me.

I have not used GWx2 for ages so apologies for not helping with your original problem but if this is not working for you, You could try Guild Wars Multi Launch.

Just a quick note for anyone still using this who had problems after a GW update, as I'm using Windows 7 and thus apparently can't use multilauncher...

If you redownload the GW client fresh, and overwrite the new .dat file with your old one, it should work again.

Just spent the past 4 hours banging my head against the wall trying to fix it, and this did it.

It's not the .dat file, it's the .exe. Each time there is an update, you must copypasta and replace the .exe you updated with the x2 one. Then it will let you launch two copies and it'll update itself.
